Mobile Home Purchase and Installation

The Town may need to purchase one (1) to six (6) mobile homes and install them at the rear of the mobile home park in order to relocate residents. The Town of South Boston utilized Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to acquire the Westside Mobile Home Park with plans to eliminate the substandard, nonconforming mobile home park and create a new, low-income, single-family subdivision. Residents in this community are served by town water and sewer and Dominion power. There are thirteen (13) residents currently in or near the construction footprint for the proposed subdivision, and the Town is trying to relocate those residents before the end of 2023. A project location map is attached. The Town may need to purchase one (1) to six (6) mobile homes and install them at the rear of the mobile home park in order to relocate residents. Each mobile home must be installed on pier footers with vinyl skirting so the Town can sell the mobile homes as tenants move into permanent single-family housing. Water/sewer hookups and electric distribution boxes will be provided at each lot. B. SCOPE OF SERVICES: Construction/fabrication of mobile home(s); delivery to Westside Mobile Home Park, South Boston; and connection to utilities: Dominion Power, Halifax County Service Authority.
