Description | 127EAW23Q0015 - Mt Shasta Data Comm Repairs Shasta-Trinity National Forest FAR 32.204 Disclosure of Magnitude of the Construction Project: less than $25,000 Set Aside: Total Small Business Set Aside IMPORTANT NOTES: See Section L, Paragraph L.2 for the Documents to Submit with Your Proposal All Requests for Information (RFI's) shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer, Greg Cunningham, on the attached RFI form not later than 1300 hours PST, May 30th, 2023. An organized site visit will be held on Wednesday May 24th, 2023, 0900 - 1000 AM PST. See page 22 for details. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award. PLEASE RSVP TO THE SITE VISIT BY EMAILING: GREGORY.CUNNINGHAM@USDA.GOV This project is located at the Mt Shasta District Ranger Station, 204 West Alma Street, Mt Shasta, CA 96067 The purpose of this project is to make repairs and replace the data and communication cables damaged by an unrelated utility project in 2021. The work extends from the IT closet of the fire engine office on the south side of Alma Street to the IT room in the District Ranger main office directly across Alma Street. There are two pull boxes, one on each side of Alma Street that will be replaced with new pull boxes. New patch panels/terminations are to be installed at each end of the cable installations. The existing PVC conduit is 2" and still contains the damaged cables which will be removed as part of this scope of work. The conduit was repaired by City utility crews in 2021. Existing cabling to be removed includes three (3) total within the existing conduit: (1) Belden 8760 shielded PA line; (1) 50 pair copper telephone cable and (1) Siecor fiber optic 1995 cable. The proposed cabling to be furnished and installed includes: (1) 12/2 Belden 5kFE shielded PA wire, (1) 25 Pr Cu direct bury telephone cable, and (1) 12 Strand multi-mode fiber optic - direct bury cable. Also included for improved installation and cabling protection is (1) 2 x 2" Maxcell fabric Innerduct. Cable installers shall be BICSI certified for copper and for optical fiber cable installations. Contractor shall furnish all material, labor, equipment, and transportation as required to accomplish the installation, repairs, final connections and/or adaptations, for a complete and usable system for each cable replacement so as to operate as originally intended. All demolition, disposal, replacement, and repairs described herein in this document are the responsibility of the Contractor.
