Description

As of June 21, 2022, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on June 22, 2022. Replacement of 2,365 feet of 8" ductile iron water main and other miscellaneous appurtenances all in accordance with the plans and specifications. A bid alternate will be included to directionally drill 8" HDPE pipe in lieu of ductile iron pipe. Contractors are not required to submit bids for both installation methods but may do so if they wish. Location: Southlawn Place from S. Edgelawn Drive to Western Avenue and S. Westlawn Avenue from Southlawn Place to Marseillaise Place. The City of Aurora has a local preference ordinance that would apply to this contract. Prequalification of Bidders as contained in Check Sheet LRS6 in the "Supplemental Specifications and Recurring Special Provisions" is required on this project. All proposals must be accompanied by a proposal guaranty as outlined in the Proposal form. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals as provided in Standard Provisions for Bidding Requirements and Conditions for Contract Proposals contained in the "Supplemental Specifications and Recurring Special Provisions". Any bidder who owes the City money may be disqualified at the City's discretion The City encourages minority business firms to submit proposals and encourages the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. Submission of a bid shall be conclusive assurance and warranty the bidder has examined the plans and understands all requirements for the performance of work. The bidder will be responsible for all errors in the proposal resulting from failure or neglect to conduct an in depth examination. The Awarding Authority will, in no case be responsible for any costs, expenses, losses or changes in anticipated profits resulting from such failure or neglect of the bidder. All questions should be received by the purchasing division by 4 pm Thursday May 26th, 2022 so that an addendum can be issued Friday May 27, 2022 if required. All questions received after Friday will not be addressed.
