Description | The principal items of work are approximately as follows: Fire Station Road consists of approximately 750 linear feet of widening, resurfacing, storm sewer installation, landscaping, and lighting improvements. Rodeo Lane is a grade, drain, base, and pave project approximately 0.60 miles in length. The entire project shall be completed in ONE-HUNDRED THIRTY (130) workingdays (seventy-five (75) working days for Fire Station Road and fifty-five (55) working days for Rodeo Lane). A cashier's check (drawn on an Alabama bank) or bid bond for 5% of the amount bid (maximum - $50,000.00) and made payable to Poarch Band of Creek Indians must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith. It is not required that a contractor be licensed in order to submit a bid; however, prior to award of a contract, proper proof of all applicable licensures must be provided by the contractor. Proof of insurance coverages of the types and amounts as set forth in the project specifications will be required of the contractor, and any and all subcontractors, prior to beginning work. The contractor will be required to perform work amounting to at least 30% of the total contract cost with his own organization. Contractor prequalification is not required to bid on this project. All questions or clarifications must be sent by email to mrogers@thompsonengineering.com no later than July 29, 2022 at 12:00 PM local time. If an addenda is necessary Public Works will issue one to the email addresses that we have on file. This is a federally funded project. The proposed work shall be performed in conformity with the rules and regulations for carrying out the federal highway act and other acts amendatory, supplementary, or relative thereto. This project is subject to the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act and its implementing regulations. In accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000D to 2000D-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally-assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such act, all bidders are hereby notified that it will be affirmatively ensured that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award.
