Santa Rita Water Reclamation Facility (SRWRF) Primary Clarifier #2 & Fine Screen Channels Coating and Repair

The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate approximately 5,510 square feet of existing Primary Clarifier & Influent Channel surfaces in an operational wastewater treatment facility. Services to be provided by the Contractor will include, but will not be limited to: existing surface preparation, including minor repairs and surfacing, and installation of a layered coating with a modified polymer and polyurethane/polymeric foam. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and other items necessary to complete the work in accordance with the contract documents. SCOPE OF SERVICES SCOPE OF WORK. The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate the corrosion resistant liner in the existing Primary Clarifier #2 and Fine Screen Influent Channels in an operational wastewater treatment facility. Work includes: 1. Surface preparation of interior tank and channel surfaces to an SSPC-SP13/NACE 6 standard to produce a cleaned, abraded, and sound surface with no evidence of laitance, loose concrete, contaminants, or debris. The sump in the Primary Clarifier and the Effluent Trough outlet must be covered to ensure no foreign material enters piping. 2. Collect, store, and transport spent abrasive material and existing coating to landfill. 3. Apply moisture/chemical barrier specifically developed for corrosive wastewater environments, consisting of silicone modified polyurea to interior tank walls and channel surfaces. 4. Apply surfacer consisting of low viscosity, two-component polyurethane/polymeric blend foam to interior tank and channel surfaces. 5. Apply final/chemical corrosion barrier specifically developed for corrosive wastewater environments, consisting of silicone modified polyurea to interior tank and channel surfaces. 6. The total thickness of the multi-layer liner system shall be a minimum of 500 mils. 7. The contractor will be responsible for providing representative layer and/or total coating thickness measurements. All work shall be completed under the supervision and inspection of the City Project Manager or assigned agent. Any deviation from the project or standard specifications shall be approved, in writing, in advance. Any deviation from the project or standard specifications without prior authorization shall result in the immediate suspension of work, removal of the non-compliant work at Contractor's cost, and possible termination of contract. The scheduled work period is tentatively set as July 8, 2023, through October 5, 2023 unless otherwise agreed upon by both the City of Durango, and the contractor. Work shall be accomplished as soon as practical. A. SCHEDULING. The Contractor shall schedule the reconstruction work so that the least inconvenience is caused to City staff and workflow. Prior to the pre-construction meeting, the Contractor shall provide a schedule to the City showing proposed phases and dates of work. Working Hours will be Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM unless otherwise approved.
