Description

Modify room 201 to become the new clinic space. This will consist of installing a sink inside of the room and cutting a door into the existing 8" masonry wall joining it to the girls restroom next door. Also included in this scope is modifying the connected girls and boys restrooms to make them both single use restrooms. This will consist of modifying both doors with the appropriate hardware and signage. New Clinic Sink 1. A new sink is to be installed on the shared restroom wall inside of room 201 (new clinic room). a. Sink is to be tied into the existing restroom plumbing located inside of the chase wall as shown on sheet 01. b. Sink model is to be Kohler K-2005 or equivalent. Faucet is to be HB-1000C-LR or equivalent. i. Sink shall be mounted at a height of 34" to the rim. ii. Provide TrueBro under sink Pipe Cover kit model #103-EZ or equivalent. 2. Plumbing tie in is to be performed through the music room behind the chase wall. a. A new 24"x24" metal access panel painted to match the existing wall is to be cut in/ installed in the music room for plumbing tie in. New Restroom Door 1. Cut a new doorway from the new clinic space into the existing girls restroom as shown on sheet 01. a. Electrical outlet near the new door location is to be eliminated while keeping the circuit energized for the remainder of the outlets. 2. Contractor shall provide an 8-inch deep precast lintel above the block opening. a. Masonry shall be toothed in back to the door frame as well as ceramic tile on the restroom side. 3. The floor in the new opening where the block wall is removed shall be cut down a minimum of 2" and poured back with smooth finished concrete a. Filled concrete shall be flush with all surrounding areas in preparation for VCT and transition strip. b. VCT shall be filled in on the clinic side of the doorway and ceramic tile filled in on the restroom side. i. A small, low-profile transition strip is to be installed between the VCT and ceramic tile flooring. 4. Door is to be a 3'0" x 7'0" x 1 3/4" solid core wood door finished to match existing doors. a. Door hardware per sheet 01 Best brand or equivalent. b. Door is to be undercut 3/4" 5. Door frame is to be fully welded and grouted solid to masonry. Existing door(s) modifications 1. (2) Existing doors are to have privacy locksets installed as specified on sheet 01. a. Existing deadbolts are to remain in place and operable b. Pull handles on the inside of the doors are to be replaced with a push plate. c. New locksets are to be installed over the push plates. This is to eliminate holes and discoloration on the existing door slabs. 2. (2) Existing frames are to be modified to accommodate new strike plate for locksets a. Note: Existing frames are grouted solid Existing Restroom Signs 1. Replace (2) room signs at each existing restroom with a sign as specified on sheet 01. a. New signs are to match the style and color of the other school room signs. General Scope Details 1. All modified areas shall be finished to match existing a. New door stained to match existing b. New and old door frames (3) painted to match existing c. All walls affected by new door, sink, and access hole shall be painted to match existing d. Tile wall shall be repaired to match existing at new door e. VCT in the new clinic and ceramic tile in the restroom shall be patched into the new doorway.
