Description | The work to be done under the contract documents shall consist of the following: The City of Bellaire (City) is seeking a firm to construct a sidewalk on the 4700-5000 blocks of Maple Street, from South Rice Avenue to West Loop South. The selected bidder would install approximately 894 linear feet of 4-foot-wide sidewalk and other appurtenances. This work will include removal/replacement of driveways, installation of ramps, traffic control, storm water pollution prevention plan and tree protection. The selected bidder would be required to complete the work in compliance with the design plans and specifications, unless otherwise directed by City staff in writing. The selected bidder is required to restore the area to pre-construction quality, or better. In addition to replacing grass, bidder may need to repair irrigation and drainage systems impacted by construction. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, superintendence, machinery, equipment and all materials necessary to complete this project in accordance with the contract documents. Emailed requests for clarification must include Bid 23-011 in the email subject line. Questions are due by 5:00 pm on September 27, 2023 Each bidder is required to submit a cashier's or certified check issued by a bank satisfactory to the City of Bellaire, or bid bond from a reliable surety company, payable without recourse, to the order of the City of Bellaire, in an amount of not less than 10% of the total amount of the bid submitted as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute all necessary bonds within 10 days after notice of award of the contract to him. The City of Bellaire reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all technicalities, and to accept any bid that it deems advantageous to it. Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the City of Bellaire, Texas, and its respective employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid. The City of Bellaire is subject to the Texas Public Information Act, a state law, which may require the City to make the information provided in response to this bid available to the public upon request. Bidders desiring additional information or clarification of any part of the bid, the technical specifications, plans or other documents must make written requests to the City's Project Manager.
