Street Improvement Project - Wilson Street - Lynn Street to Bridge Street

The work of the Project generally consists of: demolition and removal of existing concrete and paver sidewalks, asphalt and concrete pavement, curb, curb & gutter, and other related site and street features; construction of new concrete sidewalk with paver bands and boarders, sub-grade / sub-base improvements, concrete curb / curb & gutter, aggregate base course and asphalt / concrete pavement, and striping; new / replaced storm drainage; incidental adjustments to water appurtenances; landscaping; milling and replacing asphalt pavement; other streetscape features; and maintenance of traffic and traffic control; all as shown on the project drawings. Project is located along and within Wilson Street in Downtown Danville, VA from the eastern side of intersection of Wilson Street and Lynn Street to the western side of intersection of Wilson Street and Bridge Street. The Project distance is +/- 800-linear feet. All bids must be sealed and the package marked as follows: Invitation to Bid #: 22-23-004 Project Name: Street Improvement Project: Wilson Street - Lynn Street to Bridge Street (UPC 113115) Bid Date: September 8th, 2022 Time: 2:00 p.m. (EST) Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis. Bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. The bidder's attention is directed to the requirements of Title 54.1, Chapter 11, of the Code of Virginia All questions must be submitted in writing via email to Purchasing@danvilleva.gov or in person at the issuing office. The successful bidder and all subcontractors working on this project are required to hold a valid City business license before they begin work. The Contractor must be prequalified with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) in order to submit a bid for this project. Any bid received from a contractor who is not prequalified with VDOT will be rejected. The Contractor must obtain licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia in accordance with the requirements of Title 54.1, Chapter 11, of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended. MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit bids. Bidders must comply with the following: the President's Executive Order # 11246 prohibiting discrimination in employment regarding race, color, creed, sex, or national origin; the President's Executive Orders # 12138 and 11625 regarding utilization of MBE/WBE firms; the President's Executive Order 13658 regarding minimum wages on federal funded construction contracts; the Civil Rights Act of 1964; the Davis-Bacon Act; and Section 436 of P. L. 113-76 (American Iron and Steel). Bidders must certify that they do not or will not maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on the basis of race, color, creed, or national origin. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding. Withdrawal of bid due to error shall be in accordance with Title 2.2, Chapter 43 (2.2-4330, Paragraph B.1) of the Code of Virginia.
