Lower Broadway Pedestrian Safety and Transit Improvement Project

The City of Methuen invites sealed bids for the Lower Broadway Pedestrian Safety and Transit Improvement Project, in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by Stantec, Inc. The Project shall consist of ADA ramp construction, crosswalk & pedestrian signal installation, Transit shelter installation, pedestrian refuge island construction, and other related work. The work is estimated to cost $400,000 All work for this project must be substantially completed by November 30, 2023 Bids are subject to MGL c.30 39M and to minimum wage rates as required by MGL c.149 26 to 27H inclusive, as amended. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount and made payable to the City of Methuen. Pursuant to MGL c.30 39S, any person submitting a bid for, or signing a contract to work on, a public works project estimated to cost more than $10,000, must certify under the pains and penalties of perjury that he or she is able to furnish labor in harmony with all other elements of labor employed in the work and that all employees on the worksite, or in work subject to the bid, have successfully completed at least ten (10) hours of OSHA approved training. The project site can be visited and viewed on Broadway (Route 28) in Methuen, MA between Park Street and the Lawrence City line. On-street parking available nearby. The City of Methuen reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City to do so. Contractors must be pre-qualified by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) in the Highway-Construction category. Contractors shall be responsible for submitting a waiver with the Construction Prequalification Department if they intend to submit a bid over their single contract limit.
