Description

The McConnell Center was renovated in 2006 and the gym was not included in the air conditioning due to cost. This limits use of the gym in the warmer months, although there is year round demand. Reflection of the sun off of the windows impacts basketball players at certain times of the day necessitating window shades. If these items were addressed, use could increase. The gym is in its own zone so it can have a separate unit placed on the roof and tie into the ventilation system so it will not put an additional burden on the current system that covers the rest of the building. Project is included City of Dover FY 2024 - 2029 CIP. As of December 12, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
