Walkable Olean Phase II

Base Bid, Highway Rehabilitation of Main Street from Union Street to Front Street and Front Street from Union Street to 1st Ave – This work includes all work described: 1) Reconfiguration of the Main Street and N Barry Street intersection to narrow the pavement and provide better delineation of the travel way. This includes full depth reconstruction of the pavement in the vicinity of this intersection with new curbs, mountable surfaces, and a splitter island on N Barry St 2) Narrowing the existing pavement at the Main Street and Front Street intersection. Installing new curb. Milling the pavement and repaving with two courses of asphalt to provide a new riding surface. 3) Constructing ADA compliant sidewalks and ramps on both sides of Main Street, at the Front Street intersection, and along Front Street in front of the flood wall. 4) Installing new pedestrian signal equipment at the Main Street and Front Street intersection. 5) Removing the existing striping on Front Street and reconfiguring the lanes with new striping. 6) Installing new storm water drainage infrastructure and modifying or removing the existing storm water drainage infrastructure. 7) Installing new street light equipment and underground conduit at the Front Street intersection. Bid Alternate No. 1, Raised Center Median on Front Street – This work would involve the construction of a raised, curbed center median on Front Street. The proposed median is to be constructed with full-height concrete curb, pavement repair, backfill, topsoil, turf establishment and trees. Bid Alternate No. 2, Street Lighting on Main South of the Bridge over Olean Creek – This work would involve the installation of new street light poles, street light bollards, underground conduit, power cables, and connection to the power grid for the section of Main Street between Union Street and the bridge over Olean Creek.
