Description

**As of August 11, 2022 no bids response were received for this project. No definite date for the rebid.** Lynx is requesting two options for pre-fabricated guard booth's Deadline for Submission of Questions/clarifications: Friday, July 22nd, 2022 @ 12:00 Pm Est If a DBE participation goal has been established for the Contract, Proposers must meet one (1) of the following criteria to be considered for the Contract: A. Achieve the DBE participation goal as specified; OR B. Submit documentation detailing its good faith efforts. If a DBE participation goal has not been established for this project, Proposers are encouraged to make every attempt to secure a level of DBE participation that contributes toward the achievement of LYNX's overall DBE goal of 11.06%. When a goal has been established, the failure of the Proposer to either meet the participation goal or submit satisfactory evidence of good faith efforts may result in the Proposal being rejected as non-responsive. LYNX is requesting pricing for two options for a prefabricated guard shack. Option 1 is subdivided further based on whether it is painted or not. Pricing includes furnish and install, and pricing shall be provided separately for each option. LYNX will select an option in coordination with a partner municipality. LYNX will be purchasing two (2) Guard Booths; one for our Operations Center expansion and one for our Kissimmee Transfer Center. It is anticipated that one unit will be Option 1a described here within. The other unit will either be Option1b or Option 2. The nominal size is 4' x 6' x 8' H. Minor variations to the size may be considered. o Material: Metal o Either lightweight corrosive resistant aluminum or welded structural steel construction. The gauge/thickness of interior and exterior panels and associated insulation should be appropriate for the Central Florida (Orlando) environment. o If aluminum is selected, provide appropriate structural framing of aluminum alloy extrusions with connection fastened to a framing system by either mechanical fasteners, MIG welding, or equivalent strength connections. The end result should be a unitized framework. o If steel is selected, structural components shall be welded together at all intersections to create a unitized frame work. o Floor Panel Assembly o Shall fit tightly against wall panels and shall be fastened to bottom structural frame. o The floor assembly base structure should be such to support the proposed use of the guard shack as a security booth. o Acceptable floor material will be steel tread plates, vinyl flooring or similar materials that are damage resistant and easily cleaned. o Walls o The interior panels are anticipated to be the same chosen material as the exterior o LYNX is looking for three options for the exterior walls OPTION 1a: Plain metal finish . OPTION 1b: Painted finish in owner choice of colors. OPTION 2: Faux brick facade for bottom exterior walls and painted finish in owner choice of color. o Roof/Celling o Interior (Anticipated to be insulated panel system). Finish can either be metal or other appropriate material with the appropriate finish and insulation for the Florida environment. o Exterior LYNX is requesting three options-All need to be able to support the live loads associated with Florida wind loads. The roof is expected to have an associated gutter system to collect and channel rainwater. o Option 1a: Standard roof (typically interlocking panels). The color of the roof would match the color of the guard shack. o Option 1b: Same as above, but roof color will be Hemlock Green. o Option 2: Standing seam room in Hemlock Green. o Interior Counter o A full width counter mounted at the appropriate height. o The counter should be of appropriate materials (either metal or plastic laminate). o Windows o Windows to be provided on all sides. o Fixed windows shall be double pane 1/8" to 3/16" (minimum) clear tempered safety glass. o At least one of these windows should be a sliding window to allow for guard to communicate without having to open the door. o Doors o Sliding door of appropriate material for the construction materials of the guard shack. o Suspended from ceiling with top-mounted hangers, heavy steel axels, all steel ball bearings with nylon wheels or equivalent. o Mounting systems to be comprised of heavy duty box track and brackets. o Doors are to be fully weather-stripped. o Supplied with lock set. o Electrical and lighting o Electrical shall be wired according to N.E.C. Standards. o Load center shall be a 125 amp main, single phase, 120/240 volt unit. o Wiring can either be surface mounted in 1/2" EMT conduit or within the walls of the guard shack. o Two (2) surface mounted duplex receptacles shall be included within building interior. o Lighting can either be surface mounted fluorescent or LED lighting with its own dedicated wall switch o Air Conditioner/Heater o Standard size "window" air conditioner/heater, sized to accommodate the guard shack. o Through the wall placement . o Will plug into its own dedicated receptacle separate from those listed above. o Finish/Painting Finish o All exterior surfaces shall be clear anodized finish or painted with rust inhibitive acid based primer per customer's choice. o Surfaces painted with minimum one (1) undercoat and one (1) finish coat of automotive acrylic enamel paint with a photochemically reactive hardener. o Finish/Painting Finish o All exterior surfaces shall be clear anodized finish or painted with rust inhibitive acid based primer per customer's choice. o Surfaces painted with minimum one (1) undercoat and one (1) finish coat of automotive acrylic enamel paint with a photochemically reactive hardener. o Installation o Price shall include installation of pre-fabricated building on a flat and level concrete pad. o Price quoted should be a fully installed price onto the concrete pad provided by LYNX. o Proposer must provide engineered drawing suitable for permitting in Central Florida (Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties) o Concrete pad specifications to be provided by Proposer and constructed by LYNX. o Proposer to position unit over utility stub-ups provided by owner, verify building is level and anchor in place. o Proposer to connect power, test all electrical components and seal where the floor base meets the concrete pad. o Owner to have concrete pad constructed for placement. o Unit may be shipped fully assembled, fully wired, fully glazed and fully painted. If it not shipped in this manner, it is up to the proposer to assemble and ensure that the unit is acceptable for use. o Surfaces painted with minimum one (1) undercoat and one (1) finish coat of automotive acrylic enamel paint with a photochemically reactive hardener. o Unit to be manufactured to be in full compliance with the State of Florida Regulations for Pre-Fab Modular structures.
