Description | The Health Department is proposing to consolidate its Public Health Clinics, to maximize services to Shelby County's customers. The Health Department's focus is to provide its customers an innovative, missiondriven approach for addressing customers' needs by offering a broad range of Public Health and primary care solutions. The consolidation will provide better customer care by offering services in fewer locations which will enable the provision of more robust care such as Immunizations for adults and children, Pediatric Primary Care, Dental, Family Planning, Well Child Exams, Infectious Disease Screening and Treatment, Health Education, Support Groups, and Vital Records. The strength of the Public Health System rests on its capacity to effectively address disease prevention, prolonging life, and improving the quality of life through organized efforts. Further, this approach allows for all patient needs, at all stages of life, to be addressed. By consolidating, this can be achieved. Proposed CIP is for new construction, inclusive of design, engineering, equipment, and furnishings for the consolidation of multiple Clinic locations, to include expanded services, increased productivity, and parking for customers and employees. Financial Impact: The consolidated location will improve efficiency, be ADA compliant, will stimulate economic development through collaborative efforts and will enhance the County's Infrastructure with a more modern facility. The environment will have minimized pollution, and the quality of life in the surrounding communities will be enhance through these organized efforts. This project is included in the county's FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Program. As of December 5, 2022, further details regarding design and construction timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available. |
