Description

Meger testing the existing 600 volt RWY 25 PAPI electrical circuit to establish a base line condition to be matched (or improved) after construction; maintaining operation of the existing RWY 25 PAPI system during construction until removal is authorized by the Owner; installing new L-881 (2-Box) PAPI foundation and Power Control Unit (PCU); installing new L-881, Class I, Style A, LED PAPI system set to a nominal glide-path angle of 3.5-degrees; installing new 600 volt electrical cable spliced to the existing PAPI system electrical circuit at the existing PAPI system junction structure upon temporary shut-down of the PAPI system electrical circuit; meger testing of new PAPI system 600 volt electrical cable run; meger testing of new PAPI system electrical circuit; testing of new PAPI system performance; providing temporary electrical power to existing PAPI system and maintain operation until the Owner scheduled FAA flight check after successful testing results; providing an on-site electrician to communicate with the FAA flight check personnel and respond to any required modifications; and upon FAA certification of the new PAPI system and Owner authorization permanently activate new PAPI system; remove and dispose off-site the existing PAPI and temporary electrical equipment; abandon existing PAPI foundation and electrical cable in-place; and mulch seed any disturbed areas as more specifically set out in the Plans and Specifications.
