Description

This project would fund the renovation or replacement of the Hampton Haith Facility. The building was constructed in 1977 and requires upgrading inside and outside to accommodate future growth as well as to address safety concerns. The Federal Transit Administration would pay 80% of the cost of capital purchases and the City would pay the remaining 20% share out of the Winston-Salem Transit Authority Fund. 5307 Capital and Operating Grant funding may be used to help fund this project. In an effort to safely enforce social distancing and provide adequate office space and ADA compliant facilities, a plan design is required to determine the infrastructure needs for the administrative and maintenance facilities. The additional amenities would potentially include parking for employees and additional restroom facilities to accommodate the growth of staff throughout the agency. The Winston-Salem Transit Authority, WS Dept of Transportation and the Property Facilities Maintenance will coordinate efforts to review future development goals of the facility and infrastructure. As of May 16, 2023, this project is included in the City of Winston-Salem FY 2023 - 2028 Capital Improvement Plan and funding is allocated for construction in FY 23-24. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
