Description

King George County Service Authority desires to obtain bids for the Payne Well Pump Replacement Project to be performed in accordance with the applicable requirements of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). All questions must be submitted in writing directly to the King George County Procurement Specialist at 10459 Courthouse Drive, Suite 201 King George, VA 22485. Questions will be accepted until 1:00 PM, July 15, 2022. Questions may be sent by fax or email. The contract term shall be forty-five (45) days from the date of Notice to Proceed to substantial completion. An additional fifteen (15) days following substantial completion will be allowed to achieve final completion. A pre-bid meeting will not be held. Bidders may visit and inspect the work area at their convenience. Scope of Work: The lump sum price shall be for the Contractor furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, traffic control, permits, coordination of water supply, cleaning, disinfection, pumping, notification and coordination, cleanup, testing and all appurtenant work required to perform the work as identified in this. IFB, and in accordance with all applicable codes and regulatory agency requirements, and the attached Standard General Conditions. The Contractor is solely responsible for ensuring that all materials, labor and work meet all king George county regulations and requirements in this IFB. a. Clean (with brush) the existing 8" casing to a depth of approximately 760 feet to the top of the fill material that is in the casing (estimated to be approximately 25' of fill material). b. Remove brush and install pipe to the top of the fill material. c. Air lift the fill material from the well until the bottom of the well is reached or until no additional progress can be made. d. Remove the pipe and swab the well casing; then redevelop the well. e. Furnish and install a new well pump. The new pump shall be capable of efficiently pumping 50 gpm at 580' TDH with a motor connected to a 460 volt, 3 phase motor. f. The installation of the well pump shall include 525' of 4" galvanized pipe, three-4" DI check valves, submersible wire and a 1/4 " SS airline. g. Perform a pump test demonstrating the pumps capability of producing 50 gpm for one consistent hour and any other necessary performance test to meet regulatory standards. h. Disinfect the well in accordance with VDH and DEQ requirements, including obtaining acceptable bacteriological results. i. Reconnect the well to the existing water system. j. Project and site clean-up. k. Provide all documentation on all assets installed
