Description | Project Description: Camp Store Food Storage & HVAC Replacement - This project consists of the Contractor providing all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, insurance, etc., necessary to renovate the cold food storage areas and replace an HVAC unit within the Camper Store at Elk Neck State Park located at 4395 Turkey Point Rd, North East, MD 21901 in Cecil County, Maryland. Location- 4395 Turkey Point Road, North East, MD 21901 Project Duration: 90 calendar days Liquidate Damages: $350/ Day Bid Bond in the amount of 5% Payment and Performance Bonds in the amount of 100% The deadline for questions has been established as 5/11/2023 at 2pm, to assure that there is enough time to allow the A/E to provide responses and Addendum issuance if necessary Renovate Cold Storage Areas. a. Remove and dispose of all existing wall and ceiling insulated panels in the walk in Fridge and Freezer units, approximately 1300 Square Feet. Remove approximately 600 Square Feet of plywood attic flooring. Temporarily remove and save all associated electric conduit/Fridge unit cooling supply lines and lights in the attic area and within the Fridge/Freezer units needed for reinstallation. b. Temporarily remove and reinstall two existing lally columns at the end of construction c. Remove and replace the blowers in each of the Fridge/Freezer units with factory mounting brackets. d. Remove two glass display windows (approximately 25 Square Feet) and associated lights, wiring, accessories etc. Install framing/ in-filling thewall area with new stud framing/insulation/sheetrock. e. Inspect the wall/ceiling wood stud framing and insulation of the Fridge and Freezer Units in the presence of the DNR/DGS Project Managers and DGS Inspector. Replace 900 Linear Feet of damaged 2"x6" wall framing, 500 Linear Feet of 2"x10" ceiling joist framing, and 1,300 Square Feet of wall/ceiling insulation as per Allowance # 1. f. In the attic area, install a new hard wired attic wall mounted fan in the gable end using the existing wall cut out opening. Install proper wiring with conduit to the nearest electrical circuit connection, approximately 20 Linear Feet. g. Remove a section of wall in the Freezer Unit/Park Store to properly install a new access door to be accessible from inside the store. Installed door rail/window heat to be hardwired to the closest electrical connection device with conduit. h. Remove and replace the Freezer unit refrigerant line-sets from the exterior Add Alternate #1: Replace Outdoor HVAC Unit. a. Disconnect, remove, and properly dispose of an existing 10-ton AC unit. Reclaim refrigerant per E.P.A. guidelines. Properly dispose of any associated parts not required for the installation of the new unit. b. Install a new 10-ton combined HVAC unit with manual dampers and field installed electric heater kit on existing concrete pad. Field convert the unit to horizontal discharge. c. Revamp/transition existing ductwork as needed to fit the new unit. d. Re-set all wiring and controls and all electrical connections for a complete and satisfactory operation. e. Start up the new system to ensure proper working order. f. Restore site to a pre-construction condition. g. Remove and properly dispose of excess materials and debris off State property. compressors to the blower. Install new lines with insulation encased in conduit from the compressors to the blower. Cut a hole in the exterior wall where the blower unit connection is located. The new line shall run along the soffit area on the exterior of the building to connect to the blower in the attic approximately 75 feet. i. Replace all Fridge/Freezer units (two units) compressors/motors/ wiring, etc, located at the exterior box. j. Install new insulated panels on the previously removed sections, to include the removed Fridge Unit display window area, approximately 1325 Square Feet total. k. Install and properly secure approximately 600 Square Feet of new 3/4 " plywood over the ceiling stud framing. l. In the attic area, properly install three - anchor wire with all thread bolts, anchored to metal plates (new Fridge/Freezer Unit ceilings) connected to three roof rafters with "L" metal brackets. m. Reconnect all previously removed conduit/wiring/Fridge cooling supply lines and lighting in the Fridge/Freezer units (except the removed window sections). Check all devices for proper working order. n. Remove and properly dispose of excess materials and debris off of State property.
