Description | As of October 25, 2022, project was awarded to FBD Vanguard Construction, awarded amount is $3,328,503.75. General Work Description: The Project is located on East Tabor Avenue (between Dover Avenue and Clay Bank Road) and on Sunset Avenue (between East Tabor Avenue and Travis Boulevard). The work generally consists of, but is not limited to the following: implementing pedestrian bicycle safety improvements and pavement maintenance improvements including the installation of colored and stamped crosswalks, the installation of rapid flashing beacons, traffic signal modifications, the replacement of striping to enhance the visibility of pedestrian and bicycle crossing, replacement of ADA accessible curb ramps, the asphalt concrete in each intersection to enhance the safety of the crossings, and the installation of concrete curb extensions. The contract includes any other work as shown on the Project Plans, as specified in the Contract Documents, and as directed by the City Engineer. This project has a goal of 29% disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) participation. Each bid must be in accordance with the provisions of the contract documents now on file with the City Engineer, City of Fairfield, Fairfield, California, which contract documents are incorporated herein by reference and made a part hereof Bid Guaranty and Bonding Requirements are as follows: (a) a bid guarantee in the amount of 10% of the bid price must be submitted with bid proposal, (b) the successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond in the amount of 100% of total bid price. Proof of compliance with insurance requirements (including certificates of insurance and additional insured endorsements) shall be provided by the successful contractor. Coverage shall be for the following amounts: (a) Commercial General Liability - $3,000,000 each occurrence, $6,000,000 each aggregate, (b) Automobile Liability - $1,000,000 each occurrence, and (c) Worker's Compensation/Employer's Liability - $1,000,000 each occurrence. The City of Fairfield hereby affirms that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for award.
