BNSF Quiet Zone - Mission Inn Avenue, 3rd Street, and Spruce Street - 8610 - City of Riverside

This project will eliminate the routine sounding of train horns along the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway corridor between Mission Inn Avenue and Spruce Street by establishing a Quiet Zone in accordance with the Federal Railroad Administrations (FRA) Final Rule. The project provides for the construction of additional safety improvements consisting of a new concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk, tactile strips, directional fencing, warning signs, and grade crossing warning devices at Mission Inn Avenue, 3rd Street, and Spruce Street highway-rail grade crossings. Project is included in the City of Riverside's FY 2022 - 2027 CIP. As of August 26, 2022, information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available. Project is in the preliminary engineering phase. Construction is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2025.* *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
