Description | Broome Developmental Center (BDC) has a need to have a concrete pad installed in front of the house. The successful bidder shall provide all labor and materials necessary to complete the work in a professional manner according to below scope of work and general requirement Remove the existing lawn, 5 sidewalk sections and driveway apron (marked out in pictures at the end of this document but contractor responsible for verifying all field dimensions) and properly dispose of all removed materials. Install and properly compact 6" of gravel subbase underneath all areas where new concrete is to go. Gravel shall be placed in 3" lifts and compacted between each lift. Gravel shall be washed #2 stone. Area prepared shall support a concrete pad 12'W x 22'L x 6"D. on the left side of the driveway. (see picture at bottom of document for reference). Properly install concrete pad, 5 sections of sidewalk and driveway apron. Concrete pad, sidewalk sections and apron shall be composed of 6" of 5000 PSI concrete. All areas of new concrete shall be reinforced with #5 rebar. rebar shall be supported during concrete pour so as to be located midway in the pad. Air shall be entrained in the concrete to no less than 4% of the volume of the total pour and no more than 8%. Pad shall be 12' wide going up from the sidewalk toward the existing the fence 22' (see picture at bottom of document for reference). pad shall have proper control joints placed not more than 5' apart. Where the pad comes up to the sidewalks, it shall have an expansion joint separating it entirely. Pad shall have a broom finish.. Pad shall be sealed with a penetrating sealer as soon as allowed by manufacture directions. Sealer shall be approved by facility personal and shall be rated to protect the concrete from the effects of ice melt. Pad shall be level with the existing sidewalks. Ground shall be left in a smooth rock free and tamped state, contractor shall grade, topsoil, seed and put hay over seed for grass growth. Contractor shall be responsible for providing coverings, additives, or anything else necessary to get concrete pad to properly cure in inclement weather if needed. Contractor shall not be excused from meeting project deadlines due to weather. Pad shall be fenced off with construction fencing when it is left to cure. All work done shall comply with NYS Building Code and all other applicable codes. All construction related debris are the contractor's responsibility to removed and dispose of properly. |
