I Street Bridge Replacement / Sacramento

Site work and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in West Sacramento, California. Design plans call civil work for a bridge / tunnel. Description: Construction of a new bridge to replace the I Street Bridge that crosses over the river to connect Sacramento and West Sacramento. Described as both a lift and arch bridge, it will have three auto lanes, bike lanes and walkways for pedestrians. Trains will continue to use the lower deck of the existing bridge while the upper deck might become a pedestrian walkway. Location: North of the current bridge, the new bridge will link Railyards Boulevard in Sacramento to C Street in West Sacramento. Status: As of June 13 2022, engineering and design work is scheduled to run through this year.
