RFP - Salt Lake City Government Radio System Consulting Services

Salt Lake City Corporation (the "City") is soliciting competitive sealed proposals from qualified consultants to provide radio systems consulting services to assist in the evaluation of City's current analog government radio system, and the development of specifications and requirements for the upgrade from the current analog system to a P25 compliant government radio system that has interoperability with the Utah Communications Authority ("UCA") Public Safety radio system. Optionally, City may require that the consultant provide assistance to City in any or all of the following areas: the solicitation, negotiation, award, and/or overseeing the performance of the contract for the upgrade of City's radio system (the "Upgrade Contract"). As such, the selected consultant will not be eligible to submit an offer for the performance of the Upgrade Contract. The current Salt Lake City Radio System has been in use for over 20 years. This system, a Motorola analog 800Mhz trunked radio system, is past its end of its useful life and is in need of upgrade/replacement at this time. Technology has dramatically changed over the years with the current state-of-the-art being a P25 standards based digital radio system. The City requires that a new system be implemented to support the needs of City's radio system user base. Accordingly, the City is seeking specialized consulting services to assist in the development, procurement, and installation oversight of the new City Radio System compatible with UCA's P25 Phase 2 Public Safety radio system The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
