Description | 1) Removing downed trees and light material, pulling ditches and wing ditches; 2) Cleaning culvert inlet and outlets in place; 3) Pulling back road width to its designed single lane or double lane width, building double lane turnouts every 1000 ft for the single lane section, adding material for the road bed and road surface, reconditioning road by mix/blade/compaction; and 4) seed and fertilizing the 10 ft area both sides of the road. The contractor shall accomplish the listed work in accordance to the acceptance requirements as per the specifications. he U.S. Forest Service (USFS), East Zone, is issuing a Sources Sought to gain knowledge of interest and capabilities of the Small Business Community for a Road Reconstruction project. The work to be performed under this contract will be performed at the National Forest System Road 70 from MP 0.116 to MP 5.822, on Ocala National Forest and at the National Forest System Road 11 from MP 14.917 to MP 24.449, on Ocala National Forest.. This contract consists of construction work subject to Davis-Bacon Act wage rates. Objectives: - Remove organic material from the road, ditches and wing ditches. - Re-establish the designated lane width of the road. Dispose inappropriate material. - Re-establish drainage features (pull ditches and wing ditches, clean culverts) on the road segment. - Build double lane turn-outs every 1000 ft on the single lane road section. - Replace eroded road bed (sand/clay) and road surface (limerock) material. - Mix in the aggregate with a rotary type mixer, followed with blading and vibratory compaction. - Seed and fertilize 10 ft each side of the road for erosion control. |
