Tree Maintenance Specialist

Participates in the planting, maintenance, care, and removal of the City's trees, shrubs, and urban canopy using an aerial lift and occasional climbing. Assists the General Services Department with winter street and sidewalk operations. Serves as a lead worker supervising a crew of assigned workers; Interacts with citizens, construction companies, and other representatives from other City departments and divisions. Examples of Duties Operate aerial lift for all tree care operations and other functions as required. Assist with the planting and maintenance of trees, trimming along sidewalks, mowing roadsides and medians, cutting back brush in right-of - ways, removing trees and stumps, chip trees and brush in accordance with established policies and procedures. Grinds Stumps. Spray ROW for weed control. Assist with the moving and replanting of trees and shrubs. Install Christmas trees, holiday banners as well as other streetscape.
