Farrington Road over City Brook Bridge Replacement

The items of work under Contract No. 1 include, but are not necessarily limited to the following: The work performed for this project will occur at the intersection of Farrington Road and Castle Road. The work at this site will involve the construction of a new Farrington Road bridge crossing City Brook. The new bridge will be built on a new alignment to the east of the existing crossing and traffic will be maintained throughout the project on the existing bridge. The new bridge will consist of a prestressed concrete box beam superstructure with an asphalt wearing surface supported on conventional abutments that are bearing on bedrock. The project also includes 775’ of full depth roadway reconstruction on Castle Road and 300’ of full depth roadway construction on Farrington Road to tie the new bridge and alignment in to the existing road.
