Description

This project consists of removal and replacement of concrete paving sections, sidewalks, and curbing; installation of new landscaping curbing; staining of existing and new sidewalk sections; removal and replacement of wood fencing; installation of new framing and ceiling system; surface preparation and painting of steel, fencing, pole bases, benches, and miscellaneous items; installation of new signage; removal and installation of new lighting; removal and installation of rough-ins for security cameras and speakers; installation of pavement striping; and other work necessary to complete the improvements as specified. Substantial completion to be achieved within 75 calendar days of notice-to-proceed. Financial assistance for this project is being provided by the Federal Transit Administration which is under the jurisdiction of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT). The successful bidder will be required to comply with Buy America regulations, all applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws and regulations and the prevailing wage rates pursuant to the Davis-Bacon Act. It is the policy of the USDOT that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) as defined in 49 CFR Part 26 shall have an equal opportunity to participate in the performance of contracts financed in whole or in part with Federal funds. In this regard, MCT and its contractors and subcontractors shall take all necessary and reasonable steps in accordance with 49 CFR Part 26 to ensure that small businesses, including DBEs, have an equal opportunity to compete on and perform on this contract. MCT has established aproject goal of 4.58% of the awarded contract sum for DBE participation.
