Description | Optional Site Visit: 1:00 p.m., May 18, 2023 Questions due by: 4:00 p.m., May 23, 2023 All questions that arise from the site visits must be submitted in writing prior to the deadline to submit questions. These questions will ultimately be posted with answers in an addendum no later than (7) days prior to the bid opening date. Attendance will be taken at the pre-bid meeting, and will be shared in the addendum. Attendance to the Site Visit and Pre-Bid meeting is highly encouraged but not mandatory. The City's Asheville Business Inclusion Policy and the City's Drug-Free Workplace Policy will be explained during the pre-bid meeting. The Asheville Business Inclusion Policy requires Minority and Women Business Enterprise outreach on City contracts. Additionally, N.C.G.S. 143-128.2 requires minority and women business outreach for building construction projects requiring the below provided information to be reported to the State of North Carolina Office of Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB). The Bidder shall provide applicable ABI Documentation as described in the project manual - Asheville Business Inclusion (ABI Goals) - with their bid in order to be deemed responsive. Failure to do so will result in the Bidders bid being deemed non-responsive and disqualified.The City of Asheville reserves the right to postpone bid openings for its own convenience. In the event of inclement weather and the City Offices are closed, the bid opening will be held at 11:00 a.m. the next business day that the City Offices are open. Installation of the electrical distribution, infrastructure and site preparation to support the future installation of electric vehicle charging stations for City of Asheville Fleet vehicles at four locations: Site 1: 161 S. Charlotte Street, Asheville Site 2: 173 S. Charlotte Street, Asheville Site 3: 99999 Eagle Street, Asheville Site 4: 75 Shelburne Road, Asheville Description of Work: The Project includes proposed sidewalk along Shiloh Road, Hampton Road, and Brooklyn Road with associated Curb and Gutter along with drainage improvements for existing downspouts attached to the Shiloh Community Center building along Brooklyn Road. Additionally, the work includes the construction of ADA improvements along Brooklyn Road, Shiloh Road, and Hampton Street. Construction Start - Late August 2023 *Contractor is not required to furnish a Bid Bond, Payment Bond, or Performance Bond for this project. General Services: 14.6% MBE: Black American-owned (B), Hispanic American-Owned (H), Asian American-Owned (A), and Native American-Owned (N) Construction Services: 4.6% MBE: Black American-owned (B), Asian American-Owned (A), and Native American-Owned (N) |
