Description | The Township of Berkeley Heights seeks experienced Historic Restoration General Contractors who specialize in selective demolition of historic finishes, structural repair of historic wood framing including heavy-timber construction, repair of finish carpentry including siding and trim, repair of wood flooring, plaster restoration, masonry restoration, surface prepare, and painting. STABILIZATION AND PARTIAL RESTORATION OF THE LITTEL-LORD FARMSTEAD 23 and 31 Horseshoe Road, Berkeley Heights, Union County, New Jersey 07922 The project generally consists of the following: 1. Selective demolition of historic finishes; 2. Stabilization of the first-floor structure and foundation; 3. Structural repairs of historic wood framing including heavy-timber construction; 4. Repair of wood siding and trim; 5. Stone masonry repair and repointing; 6. Repairs to wood flooring; 7. Plaster restoration; 8. Masonry restoration; and 9. Surface preparation and painting of interior and exterior surfaces. All respondents will be notified in writing of the decision as to qualifications. Only those determined to be pre-qualified Historic Restoration General Contactors for this project will be invited to submit bids for the work. This property is listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of the Historic Places. All prospective bidders must demonstrate experience in the successful completion of projects of a similar scope and nature that followed the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties (Revised 1995) performed to the satisfaction of the Owner.
