The BLC will be located to the east of the National Air and Space Museum National Mall Building (NASM-NMB) on the site of the 1988 restaurant. Objective: The successful offeror will provide planning and design services for the Bezos Learning Center (BLC) comprising an education center, food service, astronomy park with observatory and a reconfiguration of the existing loading dock. The project includes collections handling; exhibit spaces; vertical transportation; hazmat abatement; blast; chemical, biological and radiological (CBR) mitigation; confirmation of programming; studies; concept design; schematic design; design development; construction documents; A/E Construction Phase Services; early construction packages and USGBC - LEED and/or SITES certification. Construction of the BLC will be delivered via Construction Manager as Constructor and procured using the successful offeror's 35% design submission. Early packages will be part of the design submission to allow construction to proceed and complete in 2026.. This announcement is for Phase II of the selection and award of an Architect-Engineer Multidiscipline Contract that would provide planning and design services, and construction administration support for construction of the new Smithsonian Institution's Bezos Learning Center (BLC).
