Roadway Reconstruction and Related Work (Including Signals) on a Section of Route 44 (Dean Street)

As of February 28, 2023, the project has been awarded and is anticipated for construction to begin mid-March. A firm timeline for completion has not been determined. Proposed work includes: Minor widening of Dean Street, excavation, pavement milling and overlay. Construction of retaining walls on some stretches of Dean Street, removing and resetting existing granite curb, and installing new curbing. Reconstruction of drainage systems, extension of an existing culvert, and retaining walls. Installation of traffic signal equipment, traffic signing and pavement markings, traffic control management, and other street improvements, including GATRA bus stops. Riverfront and wetland mitigation to satisfy permit requirements.
