Description | The SBE goal is twenty-five (25) percent of the contract value, with twenty-five (25) percent of that amount (6.25 percent of the overall project) as the MBE goal. This project consists of renovations, repairs and replacement of concrete, pavers, waterproofing, traffic-bearing membrane, cove joints, caulking, expansion joints, stair railings, fencing, cable barriers, drainage piping and miscellaneous finishes including associated demolition. The project consists of renovations, repairs and routine maintenance of the following: A. Convention Center Garage and Loading Dock - Construction of the Convention Center and garage began in March 2002. The garage was substantially complete in November 2004 and opened with the Convention Center in June 2005. The section of garage located below the convention center and most of the loading dock, are constructed of cast in place structural concrete. The east end of the loading dock consists of a concrete slab supported on structural steel. The loading dock ramp and eight story garage located south of the loading dock are constructed of precast concrete. B. The Front Street North Garage - Construction of the Front Street North Garage began in October 2004 and in opened in December 2006. This garage is constructed mostly of precast concrete. The exterior stair and adjacent planters and stepped seating area located above the west entrance are constructed of cast in place concrete supported on structural steel. The plaza located north of the exterior stair and slopped seating area consist of 1 1/2" pavers on a topping slab with snow-melt piping supported on cast in place concrete on structural steel to the south and on pre-cast tees to the north. The building is abutted to the north by the Travelers office building and to the south and west by the Front Street retail and residential development. |
