Replace Roofs at Buildings 36 & 2022

Work will include: a. The Contractor shall remove and properly dispose all shingles, roofing felt, drip edge, metal exhaust cans and pipe/duct flashings. All existing soffits are to remain. The Contractor shall remove existing individual vents in Bldg. 36 only. The Contractor shall remove any damaged and/or rotted wood after notifying the Contracting Officer's Representative. b. The Contractor shall install #30 felt underlayment. Install felt with six (6") inches side overlap and twelve (12") inches end overlap. c. The Contractor shall install two (2) rows of ice and water shield (polyethylene faced self-adhering sheet underlayment, Grace or equal) at all eaves. Ice and water shield shall also be installed at all valleys, minimum 24 inches each side of valley center. d. The Contractor shall install 1 1/2" hemmed 0.032 aluminum drip edge. e. The Contractor shall install asphalt dimensional shingles. f. Cut existing plywood sheathing and install nailable continuous ridge vents (Cor-A-Vent model V-400E or approved equal). g. The Contractor shall install cap shingles over ridge vent. h. The Contractor shall install pipe/duct flashing with rubber flange boots. i. Fifteen (15) years material warranty. j. One (1) year parts and installation labor warranty. k. Qualified Contractor to have experience in roof systems.
