Description | The Medical Center Master Plan should provide a conceptual layout to guide future growth and development of the center. The development plan should use a broad based representation considering the following key issues: A. Site Conditions A detailed analysis of the physical characteristics of EVMC. This should include but not be limited to: • Size • Natural resources • Location • Land ownership • Boundaries • Adjoin land uses • Topography • Sea level rise and flood risk B. Future Space and Facility Needs A major portion of the master planning process will be a comprehensive analysis of the future space and facility needs. Data and information from Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters (CHKD), EVMS and Sentara Norfolk General Hospital will provide a basis for development of alternatives and recommendations for the development of EVMC’s Master Plan. This should include but not be limited to: • Growth • Space programming • Program changes • Parking • Administrative support • Transportation • Academic support • Existing conditions C. Recommendations: Plan concepts are developed that will provide criteria and guidelines for improvement and facilities development that supports the EVMC mission, future development, growth, additional building needs and requirements, layout of the Medical Center Campus. This 7 should include the long-term viability of the campus and future sea level rise and flood mitigation. Additionally, the master plan should include current and future parking needs for the Medical Center, based on the current needs and planned future growth. This plan will need to include an estimate timeframe for the need for additional parking, site selection (options), and size requirements for future parking needs. The Medical Center Master Plan developed will need to include any requirements and be approved by The City of Norfolk |
