Description | CA YOSE 1022(1) Valley Day-Use Parking Phase II: Project will consist of the construction of a 250-space parking lot adjacent to the existing Yosemite Village Store parking lot in a portion of the space formally occupied by the Concessioner General Office building which was removed in 2021. This parking lot will be located adjacent to the new Yosemite Valley Welcome Center. The project includes drainage improvements and paving of the unpaved portions of the 350-space Valley Day-Use South parking lot originally constructed in 2017, within Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park, CA. This project increases the day-use parking capacity at the primary arrival point for incoming motorists who have no campsite or hotel reservations and improves pedestrian circulation and access from the parking lots to the visitor center in the Yosemite Village area. The project will improve visitor experience and safety by providing additional day-use parking and pedestrian connections to the YNP Village walking mall and Visitor Center areas within Yosemite Valley. All of the work is occurring in cultural and natural resource sensitive areas and there are numerous environmental constraints that will affect the construction schedule and type of operations. This project includes the following elements: - Schedule A: North Parking Lot - Option X: South Parking Lot - 3,000 tons of asphalt concrete pavement, type 1, - 2,500 tons of roadway aggregate, - 11,000 square yards of roadbed reconditioning, - 1,000 cubic yards of roadway embankment, - 2,000 linear feet of concrete curb, - 1,500 linear feet of concrete gutter, and - 400 square yards of concrete sidewalk |
