Description

The Withlacoochee State Trail is an existing 46-mile long paved shared use path built on a converted railroad corridor that connects Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties. The trail begins at the Owensboro Junction Trailhead in Dade City and terminates at the Gulf Junction Trailhead in Citrus Springs. Approximately 29 miles of the trail is located in Citrus County. The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate segments of the existing trail that are experiencing pavement failures. The project will rehabilitate several sections of the trail that are in poor condition from approximately mile marker (MM) 33.64 to MM 34.20, MM 34.80 to MM 34.91, MM 44.00 to MM 45.52; construct miscellaneous drainage improvements and pavement rehabilitation between MM 24.33 and MM 24.39, and provide mid-block crossing enhancements including Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) at CR 48 (E Orange Ave.) in Floral City near MM 23.
