Renovation of the Mount Vernon Community School Playground

This Project will directly support ACPS and its students by providing a developmentally appropriate, nature based play and outdoor learning space compliant with and exceeding the 2010 ADA, and safety improvements that allow for physical, social, emotional and cognitive development opportunities for students and the local community. The scope of the work is for the renovation of the Mount Vernon Community School playground in accordance with an approved Grading Plan and Construction documents which include, but is not limited to demolition and removal of existing playground equipment (as indicated) , mulch and rubber surfacing, fencing, timber edging, concrete sidewalks and steps, retaining wall, and landscaping (as indicated). The work also includes narrowing a sidewalk and the removal of concrete planters. According to the construction documents the work will include but is not limited to grading, permeable surfacing, tree protection, site work, playground equipment, poured in place surfacing, retaining wall construction, fence installation, and drainage preparation for surfacing. The installation of locking storage, landscape boulders, seating, and picnic tables is also part of the project.
