Water System Improvements

There will be two prime contracts – a General Construction Contract and an Electrical Construction Contract for the work. Work of the GENERAL CONTRACT (VH1-G-21) generally includes, but is not limited to: Base Bid Work: Work Areas: (1) Water Tank Site (2) Front Street (3) Main Street (4) Sands Creak Road (5) Wellhouse site off of Pumphouse Road. 1. Replacement of approximately 8,400 linear feet of new 6”,8”, 10” and 16” Ductile Iron watermain along Front Street from Leonard to Academy Street, on Main Street from Sands Creek Road to Academy Street, and on Sands Creek Road. 2. Repair of 1 MG water tank including surface abrasive blasting down to original steel, repainting and installation of new 16” gate valve 3. Redevelop both wells on site including pre-rehab and post-rehab tests and sampling. 4. Repairs to existing wellhouse. BID ALTERNATE work includes but is not limited to: 5. Installation of approximately 1800 feet of waterline on Main Street from Read Street east to the end of the road. Work of the ELECTRICAL CONTRACT (VH1-E-21) generally includes, but is not limited to: Base Bid Work: Work Areas: Well house rehabilitation/generator installation site off of Pumphouse Road & electric service at water tank 1. Furnish and install new buried electrical service and phone line to new well house including new main disconnect and other panels. 2. Furnish and install new buried electrical and phone service at water tank site. 3. Furnish and install a new 100KW, natural gas-fired backup generator and 200 amp automatic transfer switch at wellhouse. 4. Furnish and install new conduit/conductors from new generator to kiosk, and new kiosk to wellhouse.

Division 33 -	Utilities, Instrumentation and Control for Utilities, Water Utilities, Water Utility Distribution Piping, Water Utility Distribution Equipment, Disinfecting of Water Utility Distribution, Water Utility Storage Tanks, Storm Drainage Utilities.
