Description

The project is: Crossfield ES Renovation and Additions 2791 Fox Mill Rd., Herndon, VA 20171 Owner is Fairfax County Public Schools. Full renovation 89,176sf and Additions 11,638sf total project 100,814sf. In addition to the to the live stream bid opening, inperson viewing of the bid opening will be held in conference room 3050. Enter the building at the above referenced address at the front entrance as early as 2:45 p.m. Each bidder shall bear and be responsible for all costs, fees and expenses associated with its preparation and submission of a bid in response to this IFB. In no event shall any bidder be reimbursed by the Owner for any such costs, fees or expenses. Bid prices shall be inclusive of all labor, supplies, materials, equipment, permits, and sales or use taxes required to complete the Work in its entirety in strict accordance with the Contract Documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the principal's bid on the form prescribed herein (Section 00301). The original bid bond shall be submitted to the Office of Design and Constrution, 8115 Gatehouse Road, Suite 3400, Falls Church, Virginia 22042-1203, twenty-four (24) hours prior to the bid opening. The bid bond shall be issued by a surety company licensed to conduct business as a surety in the Commonwealth of Virginia and otherwise satisfying any further requirements with respect to sureties set forth in the General Conditions. In lieu of a bid bond, a bidder may submit a certified check, cashier's check or cash escrow in the face amount required for the bond. Such bid security shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and provide the required contract security and insurance if awarded the work. Two (2) original copies of the performance bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the contract sum conditioned upon the faithful performance of the contract in strict conformity with the plans, specifications, and conditions of the contract. Two (2) original copies of the payment bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the contract sum conditioned upon the prompt and faithful payment of all persons and entities who have and fulfill contracts which are directly with the contractor for performing labor or furnishing materials in the prosecution of the work provided for in the contract. The Owner will not discriminate against a bidder solicitation or awarding of contracts because of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other basis prohibited by state law relating to discrimination in employment. Minority contractors and small business enterprises are invited and encouraged to submit bids in response to this solicitation. Each bidder shall indicate on its Bid Form whether or not it is a Small Business Firm or a Minority Business Firm, as such terms are defined in the instructions to Bidders. All responsive and responsible bidders will receive equal consideration for award.
