Description

This project includes the removal of tree obstructions in the approach to Runway 14 at Winchester Regional Airport. The Project scope of work consists of: removal of trees which lie between Wincrest Drive and the Property line boundaries, those trees that lie along the shared property line with the Airport, and those trees which are existing or potential future obstructions to the Airport, with the exception that trees within regulated streams or wetlands and their associated buffers may only be topped or partially removed to the extent permitted. Trees that are removed and any debris from the tree-cutting process shall be disposed of off Property. Stumps resulting from the tree removal shall be lowered to twelve (12) inches below ground. After removal of trees, the existing ground cover shall be utilized to grade the resulting cleared areas to a manner consistent with the pre-construction topography, except that low areas shall be smoothed to provide a consistent surface and maintain existing drainage patterns. Roots, limbs, and sticks shall be raked from the cleared area and the area seeded with a seed mix which is most compatible with the ground cover. Supplemental soils or soil remediation measures are not part of the Project.
