Description | For geotechnical investigation, report and recommendations for Fayette County Public Schools. The selected geotechnical engineer should understand that their contract will be with Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS). FCPS will be responsible for payment for any and all services that the geotechnical engineer may provide on this project. Project Description: This project consists of the renovation of the existing building on the subject property. The existing parking areas and vehicular circulation will remain mostly unchanged on the westside of the building except for the addition of a drop-off area in lieu of parking spaces and a portion of the parking lot may be converted to permeable pavement. However, on the east side of the building, the existing rail spur will be removed, and much of that alignment will be repurposed for the bus circulation. Similar to the west side of the building, a portion of the parking area may be converted to permeable pavement. Scope of Work: Supply four bound hard copies for distribution and one PDF file. Proposal shall include the following: Required Geotechnical Investigation, Analysis, Engineering and Report shall include (but may not be limited to) the following: Full geotechnical investigation including all necessary borings, test pits and report for bid preparation construction documents which shall include but not be limited to earthwork recommendations, earth retaining structure design recommendations, floor slab design recommendations, allowable bearing pressure, rigid, flexible and permeable pavement design, pavement cores, percolation test in the locations indicated on the attached exhibit, and pricing for additional borings and all other requirements indicated in this proposal. Geotechnical engineer shall attend coordination/design meetings on an as needed basis to help minimize cost impacts related to subsurface conditions. Meetings will occur in either Lexington or on the project site as required. Contract effective beginning May 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2022. |
