Blain Road Pedestrian Bridge at West Thompson Lake

Project consists of restoring the pedestrian crossing over the Quinebaug River on Blain Road by utilizing an approximately 85-foot, single span, pre-manufactured steel bridge. This bridge will be for pedestrian use only (5-feet wide) and shall not be sized for vehicular loads. Incidental work to include: clearing and grubbing of grasses, shrubs and trees to better access the site, riprap installation to stabilize the areas immediately adjacent to new construction, protection of the existing historical abutments, erosion control measures to prevent construction site runoff of loose or disturbed soils, and construction of cast-in-place bridge abutments (with wingwall). Contractor will be provided a temporary storage and staging area along the West Thompson Dam Trail (east side of crossing).
