Description

The project involves making repairs to the asphalt and cement payments on the MCAF runway adding a 10-foot asphalt shoulder extension on both runway sides; grading, drainage, and off-pavement infrastructure improvements to the unpaved shoulders; and all associated electrical improvements for runway lights/signage/controls and associated underground electrical infrastructure. Due to the increase in impervious area for the additional asphalt shoulder extension, this project will also include water quality treatment in the form of dry swales on both sides of the runway per Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ) storm water design specifications.
