Description

This project will include cold milling and HMA resurfacing on M-28 in the City of Wakefield (Gogebic County, Michigan). Cold mill 1.5” of HMA off of the travel lanes at a width of 12’ either side of centerline. Maintain this milling width for the entirety of the curbed section. Once out of the curbed section, continue milling 1.5” of HMA off the travel lanes at a width of 12’ either side of centerline. Cold Mill any existing 3’ paved shoulder ribbons with the adjacent travel lane (1.5” depth). Do not cold mill beyond 12’ from centerline if a paved shoulder has a width greater than the 3’ paved ribbon (no milling in wide paved shoulders). Do not extend cold milling into any approaches or drives. Simply mill through at the width of the paved shoulder ribbon or travel lane (whichever applies given the above instructions). After cold milling is complete, resurface with 1.5” of HMA, 5E3. Match existing cross slopes with the milling and paving.
