Description

**As of July 19, 2023, bids received were rejected as they were over the budget. Project will rebid but no definite date yet.** The work to be performed under this contract includes the replacement of the hockey board system at Hawthorne's municipal hockey rink. This contract includes only the installation of the hockey dasher boards; furnishing of the hockey board materials shall be procured directly by the Owner and the materials shall be provided to the Contractor in a timely manner. The scope of work also includes the demolition of the existing boards and footings and construction of a continuous concrete curb footing, along with all other ancillaries and associated work required for a complete installation. The work contemplated under this Contract shall be completed by September 22, 2023. All demolition work shall be completed by August 25, 2023, unless otherwise authorized in writing by the Owner. Areas of the park facility outside of the hockey rink construction limits shall remain open to the public. The Contractor is responsible for securing the project limits throughout the duration of construction. Consent of Surety and a certified check, cashier's check, or Bid Bond of not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount bid and, not to exceed $20,000.00. Such checks and Bonds shall be made payable to the Owner and will be held as a Guarantee that in the event the Bid is accepted and a Contract awarded to the bidder, the Contract shall be duly executed and its performance properly secured. The successful bidder shall furnish and deliver to the Owner a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100 percent of the accepted bid amount as security for the faithful performance and payment of the Contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities or irregularities in the bids received and to accept the bid from the lowest responsible bidder.
