Steel Structures for Line 15B and 15B Skip Pole

To accommodate the widening of Capital Circle SW, The City of Tallahassee (COT) will replace and move 3 structures on 115kV transmission line 3A. The three structures to be replaced include three H-Frame poles, structure 3A-159, 3A-160, and 3A-161. Three steel H-Frame structures, without X-bracing, shall replace the three structures. Structure 3A-159 shall be replaced with a tangent steel H-Frame structure, with the existing fiber deadended and spliced at this pole. Structure 3A-160 shall be replaced with a deadend steel H-Frame structure, new fiber will be installed from a splice box at 3A-159 to a splice box at 3A-160. Structure 3A-161 will be replaced with a steel H-Frame Deadend structure to mitigate uplift on existing wood H-Frame structure 3A-162. There will not be a splice box at new structure 3A-161. The structures will use polymer suspension insulators to support the existing three 477 kcmil ACSR “Hawk” conductors, bolted clamps to support the existing 3 No. 6 Alumoweld OHGW and OPGW.
