Description | **As of August 2, 2022, no bids received. No definite date for the rebid.** The Replacement of Water Meters Sizes 5/8 Through 4 and the Testing of Exisitng Meters Bidders are required to comply with 1. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers, check or bid bond payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Perth Amboy, as a guarantee that of contracts is awarded to him, he will enter into a contract therefore. The amount so deposited shall be ten percent of the bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00. N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-14 provides that the Governing Body of any municipality may provide the form and manner of approval of all guarantee, indemnity, fidelity or other bonds required. 2. Affirmative Action Regulations requirement if N.J.S.A.10:5-31 et.seq. and N.J.A.C.17:27; 3. The Contractor shall employ only competent workers to do the work. They must be experienced and skilled in the particular kind of work they are expected to perform. It is the successful contractors obligation to hire sufficient workers for the particular kind of work they are to perform. The applicable prevailing wage rates currently in effect for Middlesex County are to be use. Should prospective bidders need further assistance with determining the specific prevailing wage rates for their proposed workers, they may contact the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. 4. P.L.2004, c.57 which amends and supplements the business registration provision of N.J.S.A.52:32-44 Each bidder must strictly comply with all requirements for a regular bid as directed or required by the specifications and Statues in such case made and provided. It is the responsibility of the contractor to hire the particular worker for the specific work they are to perform. The City is not responsible for late delivery by any couriers or the postal service. The Purchasing Agent reserves the right to reject all bids if deemed in the best interest of the City of Perth Amboy to do so and his actions are subject to the approval of the Mayor and Council of the City of Perth Amboy. Notice is hereby given to all bidders that if their bibs are informal, defective, or irregular, the same will be rejected. |
