Description

The project is for the construction of a redundant 72-inch Prestressed Concrete Embedded Cylinder Pipe (PCECP) water main to be installed in West 2nd Avenue between 11th Street and 13th Street, within and nearby the Water and Sewer Department's John E. Preston Water Treatment Plant, in the City of Hialeah, Florida. The scope of work includes furnishing and installing approximately 80 linear feet (LF) of 48-inch, 60 LF of 54-inch, 300 LF of 60- inch, and 776 LF of 72-inch PCECP water mains; seven (7) flanged butterfly valves with operators of 48-inch, 54-inch, 60-inch, and 72-inch sizes; four (4) access manholes with vaults; two (2) manual air release valves; four (4) blow-off valve assemblies; interconnections to existing 60-inch, 54-inch, and 48-inch Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP), within the Preston Water Treatment Plant compound and in West 2nd Avenue. The project includes the relocation of existing water, sewer, drainage, and compressed air facilities along the route of the new PCECP main, including furnishing and installing approximately 135 LF of 8-inch DIP water main, valves, and fittings; 196 LF of 8- inch PVC gravity sewer and fittings; five (5) sanitary manholes; 20 LF of 15-inch, 122 LF of 18-inch, and 92 LF of 24-inch diameter high-density polyethylene (HDPE) storm sewer and fittings, three (3) Type 'P' catch basins, four (4) Type 'P' manholes, one (1) concrete endwall, french drain installation, and swale grading; restoration and reconstruction of concrete sidewalk, driveway, curb and gutter; milling and resurfacing of existing pavement; replacement of pavement markings damaged or removed by construction activities; replacement of sod; and restoration of all green areas, fencing, gates, irrigation lines and all other items affected by construction operations. Small Business Enterprise - Construction goal is 5.47%, Small Business Enterprise - Goods and Services goal is 2.90% which is based on the construction estimate plus the 10% Contingency Allowance.
