Pedestrian Bridge, Ochopee, FL

Project will consist of providing and setting a turnkey, pre-fabricated steel pedestrian bridge structure with pre-fabricated concrete abutments located in the Big Cypress National Preserve. The bridge will span the Halfway Creek Canal adjacent to the Big Cypress National Preserv Headquarters, 33100 Tamiami Trail East, Ochopee FL. 34141. Bridge shall be rated at 15,000 pounds capacity. Width shall be 8’ for inside handrail to inside rail with a tread surface which meets accessibility guidelines. Handrails shall meet local, state and federal safety requirements. Bridge shall be manufactured of hot dipped galvanized steel. Pre-cast concrete bridge abutments shall be placed on each of the two canal embankments. No work shall occur within the water. Big Cypress National Preserve has secured the permitting requirements for the bridge. Contractor will provide for traffic control, safety barriers, and environmental control devices and use best management practices.
