Edgelawn Bikeway Project Phase 3 Construction Engineering Services

Edgelawn Drive is a major collector with either 2 lane section or 4 lane section that runs in the north south direction. The project’s north south limits are between Indian Trail and Virgil Gilman Trail, the project extends east on Prairie Street, north on LeGrande Boulevard, and west on Garfield Avenue, north on Gladstone Avenue and terminates at the intersection of Gladstone Avenue and Galena Boulevard. An onstreet bikeway is proposed as part of the improvement and consists of 5’ wide dedicated bike lanes, shared lane markings (Sharrows), 7’ wide striping that includes both parking and bike route, thermoplastic pavement markings, crosswalks, wayfinding signage, regulatory and warning signage. Portion of the project also involves extending the shoulders (widening the roadway) on Edgelawn Drive between Prairie Street and Virgil Gilman Trail to accommodate a 5 feet wide bike lane on the east side of the street.
