Description | The purpose and scope of these specifications are to establish the requirements for a contract to remove waste tires including passenger car or pickup tires with or without rims, commercial truck tires, tractor tires, and off-road heavy equipment tires. Objective 1.2, Policy 1.2.5 of the Solid Waste Element of the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan states, "Due to the toxic nature of incineration and mass burn facilities, no such facility will be included in the county solid waste system." Therefore, waste tires, other than off-road heavy equipment tires, must be used for recycling. No tires received from Alachua County may be incinerated. | ||
